Periotome (Single end)

Periotomes are used for carefully detaching the marginal gums and the desmodontal fibres. The rigid tip helps tool to separate root from the marginal gums. Dental periotomes sever periodontal ligaments during atraumatic tooth extraction. These instruments may also be used during routine extractions, though they are particularly important when extraction is followed by placement of dental implants.
